For over two decades, the Suncoast Chapter has hosted the annual Army Birthday Ball in Tampa. Held each June, this event is a celebration for the entire Army Family and represents the confluence of all programs supported by the Suncoast Chapter during the year, and the chapter presents the annual General Paul D.Adams award..
The annual Ball is literally a full-time effort for the chapter. Beginning each July, chapter leaders form a Ball committee to begin plans and work on the Ball for the following year, and efforts continue right up until when the Ball is held in June. Generally between 600 and 800 people attend the Army Birthday Ball.
The Suncoast Chapter works closely with local school systems throughout its area of responsibility and provides annual JROTC awards to outstanding cadets. Within Hillsborough County, scholarships are provided to the top ten cadets selected by the school system each Spring. In addition to these, the chapter also presents roughly forty JROTC medals and certificates to JROTC cadets throughout the counties served by the chapter.
For seven years now, the chapter has partnered with Altria and the Brandon Elk's Lodge to provide an annual Thanksgiving dinner for local military families. This is the premier family programs event of the year for the chapter.
A generous contribution from CWU, Inc. allowed the Suncoast Chapter to create the Jenkins Military Leadership & Entrepreneurship Academy in 2022. The academy offers the following educational programs:
Over the last decades, this has been one of our most popular annual events held at Bay Palms Golf Complex at MacDill AFB. Proudly named after the 12th SMA of the Army, this is our chapter's annual fundraising event to support the Army Birthday Ball.

This award is named after General Paul D.Adams, Commander in Chief of the United States Strike Command from 1962-1965.
